All the Hats

Being part of a hybrid publishing house means you have to do a little of everything. Not only do I write, I also do a bit of proofreading, editing, and formatting. I am nowhere near proficient at any of these, though I’m getting better. One day, I hope to be able to take on editing and formatting as professionally as my publisher. It’s a goal.

I’m almost finished going over my friend’s debut novel. If things go right, I’ll be done in a few days, leaving me available to format another friend’s latest work. Each effort brings me a little closer to understanding the complicated world of formatting. I may not get it completely right, but I’ll give it my best shot.

After these projects, it’s back to work on a novel I have in the works to be released in December. One of my beta readers pointed out a few weak spots that I’ve been itching to fix. After taking a trip the other day to the New Orleans Museum of Art, I have a few changes I need to make, too. It’s been too long since I was able to sit at my desk and let the words flow. The excitement is building.

Don’t forget! My first urban fantasy will release August 28. You can still pre-order To Kill A Demon for 99 cents! Get your copy HERE

Until next week,

~Madison
