It's Been a While...

I haven't written a blog in over two years. I quit writing them because I felt like I was writing to myself... an open diary, if you will. Guess I feel like talking to myself again.

We've had an exceptionally rainy summer this year. It turns the triple-digit temps into a sauna and everything is growing like crazy. Lawn care businesses are working overtime. It's one of those 100% rainy days today. No plans to get out, so I'll either write or take a nap... probably both.

The Craftin' Cajuns trade show is this weekend. I'm packed and ready. Everything is stacked up in my living room, ready to go. Can't unload until Friday afternoon, so we'll be trying to get everything there in between the rains. At least, Saturday is promising to be a nice day, so maybe it won't affect the crowds. Love having an air-conditioned indoor venue! It's the only one I go to anymore and the fact it's only minutes from my house makes it a breeze. Of course, none of this would be possible without my daughter, Jess. She can throw up a tent in minutes and it's her strength I rely on to get everything from vehicle to venue.

I've turned into a mother of cats. Never saw that one coming. Guess the cat distribution system thought differently. I "fostered" a two week old kitten that was supposed to find a home when he was weaned. Well, he found his home. Zeke is a permanent part of the family now.

Still taking care of Mochi for my granddaughter. Rowan will be back one day and he'll be waiting for her.

Other than that, my life is pretty quiet. Retirement suits me. Believe me, after a lifetime of working it's nice not having to set an alarm anymore. Other than the occasional doctor appt., which I try to make later in the morning, my alarm stays off.

When I'm not writing, I'm working with design graphics and enjoy playing with new software. I do sell promo teasers, logos, videos, and lately, page overlays book art, but I don't promote it much. I have a few authors who contact me for promos and videos, and I enjoy working for them. So far, it's fun and doesn't get in the way of my writing. If I was younger and more ambitious, I could turn the graphic designs into a business, but I'm happy with where I'm at.

Right now, I'm working on my twenty-first book. If you would have told me ten years ago that I'd be a published author, I would have laughed at you. Funny how things can change. I'll probably never be a best-selling author, but I do have a loyal following and their feedback keeps me going. It's my legacy to my daughter, so I hope it picks up eventually. As long as the stories keep coming, I'll keep writing. I'm never bored, that's for sure.

Well, I've rambled on long enough. Never have been exactly the chatty type. LOL If you haven't checked out my books lately, give them a look. You can find them wherever books are sold, both ebook and paperback.
