A New Favorite Venue

I always thought book conventions/signings were exciting and the place to be for authors selling their books. While that may still hold true, I’ve discovered another venue.

I recently had a table at a craft and trade shoe. Initially, I was doubtful. A few hours into it, I’d changed my mind and was trying to find out when the next event would be held. I’m definitely reserving a table.

One fellow author told me she prefers craft sales. Of course, there’s not as much competition from other writers. It also helps if you have some sort of craft on your table in addition to books. People will always stop and look. Then it’s up to you.

I don’t like to push myself on people. I’m still learning how to speak up and ‘talk up’ my books. With the help of friends, I managed to sell quite a few books and a few pieces of jewelry. I’ll get there. I learn fairly quickly. And, I have some ideas for the next craft and trade show if I’m lucky enough to get a table for their fall event.

Until then, I’m going to take advantage of a couple of opportunities that came my way while I was talking to people. You meet all kinds of interesting folks at a craft show!

Until next week,

~Madison
