A Storm . . . Few Setbacks

It’s been a month since my last blog. I’m not slacking. I just haven’t had anything to write about. All my free time has been spent working on Deuces Wild, the fifth but not final installment of The Kindred series.

I hired a PA to help with promoting my books. As usual, my timing was off. Summer months are not lucrative sales months, as I’m finding out. KU hasn’t gone well either. For now, I’m not going to worry about it. I have a book to finish. That’s my priority.

I also had to deal with Hurricane Barry. This little punk of a storm came in talking big, petering out quickly. Unfortunately, all that blowing hard before he got here knocked a huge elm tree onto my house, gouging several holes in my roof. From there, I’ve dealt with leaks in my bedroom and bathroom and partial loss of power.

I’m grateful to my daughter and her boyfriend. They kept us going while I was stuck at work for the past five days. As of today, we have full power, internet, and a huge tarp on the roof awaiting repairs. My bedroom and bathroom are usable but also need repairs. It will all be resolved in time. I can deal with it.

My plans are to write. Everything else is taking a back seat. I have a story that needs to be told.

Until next time,

~Madison
