The New Normal
We're living in scary times. Those who aren’t considered "essential workers" are urged to stay at home. "Self-quarantine" and "social distancing" are the catch-phrases of the day. This is the new normal. It’s no joking matter and I’m aware of it more than most.
I work at a hospital as a unit secretary/monitor tech on a cardiac floor. We're considered a high-risk department. I have to go in and have my temperature taken before I can work. I have to wear a mask all day. No visitors are allowed, so I spend a lot of time on the phone transferring upset and angry family members to exhausted nurses. Believe me, stress went through the roof weeks ago.
When I’m home I try my best to unwind by devoting my attention to writing and promoting my newest release. Deuces Wild is now live in both ebook and paperback. For the next week, I’m leaving the Kindle Edition at the pre-order price of 99 cents. I hope you’ll pick up a copy.
If you haven’t read my Kindred series, I’ve made all my books available on Kindle Unlimited. You can read them for free. There’s no better deal around.
I’m slowly making headway with my new WIP, The Awakening of Amelia. This is the most challenging character I’ve written so far. She absolutely does not listen to me! Every time I sit down to write, she goes off in another direction. This will either be the best book yet or the most complicated mess. I’ll have to let you know what I have on my hands later down the line.
On that note, I need to get back to her. I left her in a room checking on her patient and there’s a storm brewing…
Until the next time,
~Madison
